I would like to thank all my family & friends for their support in my photography endeavors, especially my husband. I have been doing photography seriously for almost 5 years now, & I am learning more every day. Back when we were in Missouri, I had my photography business, & it was doing well, but I also had to take on 3 other part-time jobs to help with income. When we found out about our new position & that we were moving to Arizona, we talked through what I would be doing here. Because my husband’s job requires much traveling, & it is event-driven, we decided it would be best for me to stick to just photography so that I could work as much or little as I needed, & I could work around my schedule to travel with Griffin & help at all of our events. This is something I have been waiting for! My passion has been photography for more than I can remember, however, when you are working so much, some people, like myself, can tend to lose the passion & drive for what they love. I didn’t want that to happen, & I never want that to happen.
This blog is something that I wish I had focused on more in the past but didn’t have the time or resources to do so. As I was thinking through how to gain a client base in Arizona, I thought that focusing on my blog would be something that would not only stretch me & make my name known, but it would be a way for me to express myself & keep my passion going for photography. There’s something about doing what you love because you love it, not because you have to do it.
I have already learned a lot about myself through this blog. Things such as… I almost always have to have photos in my post or it feels incomplete to me, I actually like dressing up & wearing high heels every once in a while, I love my dog (ok, I already knew that), I actually enjoy making goals, & much more! I also love blogging because it makes me feel more connected to my sister, who has an awesome blog at www.foundafeather.com & lives 1,259 miles away from me.
Let’s get to my main point. I have decided to change my name to Chasing Tumbleweed! Tumbleweed are often seen in the desert, blowing in the wind. I personally think they are super cool to watch, but maybe that’s because I’ve lived in the Midwest most my life. :) To me, tumbleweeds represent ideas, & if you’re not intentional about catching them, they can easily blow away. I want to be intentional about what I do. I want to chase after my dreams, goals, & ideas.
My photography will simply be called Bethany McGrath Photography. If any of my fellow AZ folk want photos taken, please email me at bethanykmcgrath@gmail.com Please share my name with those around you. I want to take your picture!
A very special thank you to my brother-in-law, Kyle, who helped me with my new look/logo. You are incredible!
