27 Weeks
Today our baby is 27 weeks! Just one more week until I’m in my 3rd trimester!! Baby McG is moving & grooving so much lately. I absolutely LOVE it! Here are the usual bump date ?’s plus a few new ones. Please feel free to comment with any other questions you have or want me to add to the list.
- How much weight have you gained so far? About 13-15 pounds.
- How big is baby boy? He’s 2 pounds!
- Must have items? A husband to massage my back, maternity jeans, coconut oil for the growing belly.
- Cravings? Anything sweet!! Cheesecake, cupcakes, chocolate, ice cream, brownies, etc. Don’t send me to the grocery store haha.
- What are your pregnancy symptoms? Growing belly for sure, peeing EVEN MORE than before, getting a little more tired, some back pain, & sometimes overly emotional (at least I can admit it, right?).
- Stretch marks? Nope, not yet & hopefully not ever. The coconut oil should help with that.
- Nursery? This is something I haven’t really talked about yet. We plan on having the baby in our room with us for the first few months. He will sleep in a bassinet by our bedside, & we also plan to have the changing table, clothes, rocking chair, etc. in our room. Once he grows out of the bassinet, we will probably transition him to a crib & have an actual nursery.
- How has your sleep been? Pretty good still. Getting up a little more to go to the bathroom.
- Do you miss anything? Maybe going to the grocery store without having to pee lol.
- Have you bought any or started wearing any maternity clothes? Yes, I finally bought some maternity jeans. The smallest size they had (from Target) are still a little baggy, but I can barely fit my regular jeans now. Thanks to my friend, Jess, who let me borrow a few maternity clothes that are all super cute!
- What are you most looking forward to right now? My maternity photos, baby showers, & getting baby gifts!!!
- What are you most thankful for this week? Still am & always will be so thankful for these baby movements in my tummy. He’s moving a lot more & getting stronger. I’m also so thankful for friends who lend me their maternity clothes!!! PTL :)
- Will you have a professional birth photographer? As I said before, I would love to have a birth photographer. However, I have been asking for prices & all are way over our budget. I’m thinking I’d rather have a video montage instead, so hopefully my husband can get some good shots. I’ve tried looking up birth videographers, but haven’t found anything (big surprise, right?). Any ideas?
A few other things to mention… my placenta still isn’t far enough away from my cervix, but it is moving. Just very slowly. I have another follow up appt in 2 weeks to see if it is continuing to move. The good thing is, we get extra ultrasounds because of it, however, baby McG was camera shy last ultrasound & didn’t show his face at all haha. He also had the hiccups during the ultrasound which is totally adorable. We are attending something called Family Circle through our midwive’s office, where we meet every few weeks with other couples that are delivering around the same time as me. We meet for 2 hours together & ask any questions in the group. We also have a private moment with one of the midwives beforehand if we have any personal questions. Griffin will check baby’s heartbeat, my heartbeat, my weight, & baby’s size. Every week the instructor will have a guest come in and talk about different pregnancy related things… birthing methods, yoga, doula services, nutrition, placenta encapsulation, etc. We have only made one of the appts so far, but I really enjoyed it.
As always, thanks for reading & being a part of this wonderful journey with us!
P.S. Picture overload today! I asked my hubby to take some pics for today’s post, but I quickly found out baby is one of his favorite subjects to take pics of. ;)
You look so adorable! I have never seen a more glowing mom to be!
Oh, well that is very sweet of you! Thank you!
Ah!! So excited for you guys. I love reading about your journey. 😄
Love you babe!!
So so so thankful to Jesus for baby McGrath and his beautiful mommy.
