33 Weeks // Taken on Thanksgiving
- How much weight have you gained so far? About 23 pounds! I just had an appt on Monday & was excited to see that scale number go up from my last appt.
- Must have items? Currently, extra vitamin C & vitamin D because I’ve been sick. Definitely also a water bottle to carry with me everywhere. I have a Yeti which has been the perfect container for me.
- Cravings? Gosh, my cravings have been so boring haha. Just about anything cold, sweet, & refreshing still.
- What are your pregnancy symptoms? At this point, exhaustion is probably number one. If I eat anything spicy at all, I get some acid reflux. Then, of course, lots of baby movements!!
- Nursery? We have received so many beautiful gifts from our baby showers, & we are so thankful for all of them. As far as things we have bought, we just got a glider & ottoman, thanks to everyone’s advice on Facebook. We got one from Buy Buy Baby that the manager gave us a huge discount on. It was a floor model so it had a few dirt marks, but my Norwex cloth cleaned them right up!
- Are there any major items you still need to buy? Yes, we still need a bassinet (registered for this one after hearing amazing things about it), our stroller/carseat combo, a baby carrier, diaper bag, & changing table pads. We have purposely waited until after my showers to buy these items, & thankfully we have some gift cards to purchase some of them. Griffin’s mom & stepdad just ordered a dresser/changing table for us, so we are excited to get that in the mail!
- How has your sleep been? Still no complaints. I have only had some trouble sleeping lately because of being sick, but usually I sleep well.
- Do you miss anything? I can’t think of anything that I haven’t mentioned before. I guess I miss having a stronger immune system haha (pregnancy weakens your immune system, hence why I’ve been sick more than usual).
- What are you most looking forward to right now? My maternity photos are coming up in about a week & a half! I’m excited to be able to capture this journey with professional photos by Erica Torgeson.
- What are you most thankful for this week? I’m super thankful Griffin & I got to spend Thanksgiving in Missouri with almost all my family. This was the first time they’ve been able to see me really pregnant & feel the baby move. My little 6 year old nephew LOVED talking to the baby & feeling him kick. Such sweet moments with them this past week.
- What’s on your to-do list? Same as two weeks ago (I haven’t gotten much done since then). Our hospital tour at the beginning of December & an infant CPR class. Thankfully our family circle at our midwive’s offices are having a group of pediatricians come in & talk to us in a couple of weeks. I’ve heard great things about thier offices, so I’m thinking we will go with one of them. This will check one major item off the list! Another thing I need to do is make a hospital bag checklist. I’ve started one, but if there are some good resources out there in a blog or something, please send it my way.
The past couple weeks have been really great, but we had a little scare before we left for Missouri. Every meeting at our family circle, we check the fundal height of the baby, & when we checked this last time, the fundal height hadn’t changed in about 3 weeks. The concern with this was that baby may have not been growing anymore due to a number of reasons. We scheduled a growth ultrasound (more accurate than fundal height) to see if baby McG was growing. Our ultrasound was a couple days ago & once again, God answered our prayers! Baby is about 5.5 pounds & measuring in the 55th percentile overall. Just another reminder that God is in control, we are not, & that is a very good thing.
